Drives will be arranged to fit a student-driver’s schedule, athletes, and activities depending on government okay.

Stanwood High School Traffic Safety is an authorized State Knowledge(written) and

Skills(drive) testing center.


Early Spring Session 4 (Class Full)

All classes are taught by certificated Washington state instructors and graduates of Central Washington State University’s Traffic Safety program.  All instructors have at least 30 years successful teaching and traffic safety instruction.

We are authorized to give State Knowledge and Skills Test for people 21 and younger.

Yes, you can pay using your CREDIT CARD for Traffic Safety Education online through the main district website! After paying online please email Scott Knight SHS TSE Coordinator to inform him that your student is enrolled, [email protected]

Please pre-apply for a Department of Licensing permit if you do not already have a State Issued ID card. (SEE YOUR INFO PACKET) Once complete, please make 2 copies of the confirmation. One is for your records and turn one in with your registration. AFTER WE ENTER YOUR PERMIT NUMBER INTO THE DOL PORTAL YOU CAN GO TO THE DOL TO PICK UP YOUR PERMIT.

We must have your 12 digit Permit # to enter your information into the DOL portal for permit waivers, course complete, knowledge and skill test results.

If your student is involved in sports or other after school activities, please call about alternative scheduling for drives.

Instructors have average 32 years successful public school certificated teaching. All Instructors have graduated from

Central Washington University Traffic Safety program and currently endorsed by the state of Washington.

 

 

RATE SCHEDULE FOR STANWOOD TSE:

  • 34 hours of classroom, 6 hours of driving, 6 hours of backseat observation: $440.00
  • Exceeds State Minimum
  • Extra drives (per hour): $45.00
  • 30 min. practice drive test for state test (recommended): $30.00
  • No Show/No Permit Fee $45.00
  • State Knowledge Test: $25.00
  • State Skills Test:  $30 retest $15

You can now pay using your CREDIT CARD for Traffic Safety Education online through the main district website!

Just go to the Stanwood Camano District website, on the left click on "Students and Family" then click on "online payments". From there, towards the center of your screen, under Browse, click on "Stanwood HS", then just click on "Traffic Safety" and follow the directions for payment. There is a fee associated with online credit card payments. This non-refundable fee is charged by the online service provider and is added to your total at checkout. Please remember to print out your receipt and have your student bring it into the main office at the High School along with your completed registration form.

Students are eligible for Traffic Safety Education (TSE) at 15 years of age when taking a TSE Class through SHS. Reserve your spot now as the classes fill up quickly.

Please complete your registration form and turn it in with your $440.00 check and a copy of your DOL 12 digit permit# confirmation to the Stanwood High main office.

- 6 Hours of Behind The Wheel Driving

- 6 Hours of Backseat Observation

- Comprehensive Five Week State-Mandated Program/ 34 Hours

- Exceeds State Minimum Requirements

- Course complete electronically sent to DOL

- AUTHORIZED STATE TESTING CENTER (STATE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS TEST)

-An extensive professional speaker program, including representatives from the Washington State Patrol,

Department of Transportation, Snohomish County DUI Task Force, School Resource Police Officer, Snohomish County Deputy Sheriff-Drugs, and a local Insurance agent.
